Fust Survival Raid Guide: What to Gather and Craft First

Last updated:

Before raiding another player's base in Fust Survival, mine sulphur with a Stone Pickaxe, burn wood into charcoal, craft Gun Powder, and pick a charge from the EXPLOSIVES category.

Quick answer

Gather Sulphur Ore with a Stone Pickaxe, burn wood in a furnace for Charcoal, craft Gun Powder from Sulphur 10 + Charcoal 10, then choose an explosive from the EXPLOSIVES category in the crafting menu.

  • Stone Pickaxe — Wood 200 + Stones 100; the tool that mines sulphur.
  • Sulphur Ore — yellow crystal spikes on grey rock nodes.
  • Charcoal — made by burning wood in the furnace; the footer notes 75% charcoal and no ore needed, at server-specific rates.
  • Gun Powder — Sulphur 10 + Charcoal 10 produces Gun Powder x10.
  • Explosives — C4 / Timed Explosive Charge are listed in the EXPLOSIVES category; their own recipes and costs are not listed here.

Fust Survival's description puts raiding at the centre of the game — "Survive. Build. Raid." — and tells players to "build a base worth raiding." The crafting menu is where preparation becomes concrete: sulphur and charcoal combine into Gun Powder, and a separate EXPLOSIVES category lists craftable charges. The chain below follows that preparation from gathering raw materials to the crafting menu.

Mine sulphur with a Stone Pickaxe

Sulphur Ore is the ore half of Gun Powder. It appears as yellow crystal spikes on grey rock nodes, which makes it easy to pick out from ordinary stone while you are gathering. Mining it calls for a Stone Pickaxe: the crafting menu lists that tool at Wood 200 and Stones 100, with Damage 15 and Time 2s shown on the recipe.

That recipe sets the first farming order. Before any sulphur comes out of the ground you need 200 wood and 100 stone for the pickaxe, and the same wood later feeds the furnace. HUD harvest logs can be large — one showed +670 Sulphur Ore — and at 10 sulphur per Gun Powder craft that is far more than a single batch needs.

If you want a repeatable farming route rather than a one-off trip, see the resource gathering guide.

Turn wood into charcoal at the furnace

Charcoal is the ingredient that closes the loop. The furnace burns wood as fuel and produces charcoal as its output, and its footer spells out the trade: "Burns 1 wood/5.75s, 75% charcoal, no ore needed. Smelts 5 ores per slot." Those figures are labeled server-specific, so treat them as the rate your server shows rather than a universal constant.

Two controls matter on a supply run: LIGHT starts the furnace burning, and TAKE ALL empties the output into your inventory. The "no ore needed" note is the useful part for preparation — charcoal comes from burning wood, so a load of wood is a complete charcoal run on its own, separate from any ore you also smelt in the same furnace at up to 5 ores per slot.

The furnace guide and the smelting guide go through the interface in more depth.

Craft Gun Powder

With both materials in hand, the recipe is Sulphur 10 + Charcoal 10, producing Gun Powder x10: ten of each input, ten Gun Powder out, one craft. It is the most complete recipe in the chain, and the one to size your sulphur and charcoal farming around.

The stack of Gun Powder you end up with is the visible sign that the ingredient stage is finished. If the crafting menu itself is still unfamiliar, the crafting guide explains how categories and recipes are laid out.

Choose an explosive from the EXPLOSIVES category

The crafting menu contains an EXPLOSIVES category that lists craftable explosives, with C4 / Timed Explosive Charge as the visible examples. Those charges are separate entries from the Gun Powder recipe, and their own recipes and ingredient costs are not listed here, so open the EXPLOSIVES category and read the charge's entry before you size a farming run.

That splits raid preparation into two parts. The gathering half is verifiable — sulphur, wood, charcoal, Gun Powder — and the charge half is a menu entry to read before you commit a long session to farming.

What a raid target looks like

The target is another player's base. Bases are built with the Building Plan — foundation, walls, doorway, door — and then secured with a Tool Cupboard, which the on-screen text describes as protection against base decay and unauthorized building. The Tool Cupboard's recipe is Wood 1000, which gives you a sense of what a protected build costs its owner.

Knowing that shape helps you read a base when you find one: it is a planned structure with an owner who has invested in keeping it standing and free of outside construction.

Progress saves on the server until the weekly Friday wipe. That is the window your stockpile lives in — a sulphur-and-charcoal run can be spread over several sessions during the week, and the reset clears it. The wipe schedule explains how that timing is handled if you want to plan around a fresh server.

What you risk carrying into a raid

A player killed by another armed player drops their carried items, and the death screen offers respawn on the beach or at a sleeping bag. The practical caution for a raider is straightforward: whatever sulphur, charcoal or Gun Powder is in your inventory when you lose a fight is what changes hands, so decide before you set out how much of the stockpile travels with you.

Where to go next

If you are starting from scratch, the beginner guide covers the opening.
